Everyone Is Talking About The Telegram Takedown 🔥

In a stunning development, Pavel Durov, the founder and CEO of Telegram, was arrested at Bourget airport near Paris and charged with a long list of crimes, including terrorism, money laundering, drug trafficking, pedophile offenses, and fraud.

He was arrested for failing to moderate content on the platform and for letting fraudsters, drug traffickers, and pedophiles freely engage in crime on it.

“Enough of Telegram’s Impunity, " said one French Investigator. But the arrest has created a firestorm of controversy pitting freedom lovers who want freedom of speech against crime fighters who say, “This has to stop!”

Estimates of its potential value varied, but one insider said it could be worth more than £700m (USD 925M), while another said it could ultimately be worth less. If anyone has ever met founder Dave Excell, you can’t help but be happy for one of the nicest fraud fighters on the planet.

Sources cautioned, however, that a deal had yet to be formally agreed and could still fall apart! Congrats to our friends at Featurespace, who are set to do well if this sale goes through

Cupcake Scam Ain’t No Cakewalk For Bakery

Bakery owner Loria Stern was delighted when she received an order for 84 dozen cupcakes for a large event. The email was impeccable, so she didn’t question it. Soon after, she received a check for $7,650 because the girl named Zoe Madison said she didn’t have a card.

Right before the order was delivered, the scammer called back and wanted to cut the order in half and get a refund.

This is a well-known scam, and I was even targeted. I don’t even have a bakery. You can read my conversation with a cupcake scammer here.

Cart4U Bot Has Makes Fraudulent Orders a Snap 🫰

Want front-row seats at the next Taylor Swift concert but short on cash? Maybe you want to check out that blockbuster movie, but you’re short on dough. Or perhaps you want to splurge on Doordash, but you're feeling cheap.

Well, there is a new fraud ordering service called Cart4U, which has wholly automated fraud by using a sophisticated BOT right within Telegram. You pick out the tickets, the food, or the ride you want, then paste the cart into the order screen, make a small payment, and voila, you're off to the races.

I’ve never seen a fraud for service as easy to use as this one. And that’s bad news for online merchants dealing with even more first-party fraud. The service appears to have launched in August and is a form of Buy4U, which has been around for several years - this just takes it to the next level!
